Port / TRA is going bonkers, now also transit export minerals are stopped from shipment.
( as received )
Kindly be notified that we have received instruction from Tanzania Revenue Authority(TRA) to stop Shipments of all Mineral related products those already received in the Terminal. All Minerals products shipments both Local and Transit As per the instruction should not be loaded until further notice from TRA.
In the Terminal already we have stopped more than 200 Containers with various minerals to be loaded on vessels alongside and those due to berth with their cargo ready in the Terminal. In order to avoid further congestion of the Terminal we also asked TRA to extend the stop order on shipments when processing Release documents in order same cannot be delivered to the Port before TRA instructions. According to TRA the stop order has also been extended in their release process.
TICTS also will not continue processing Export Documentation, Invoicing, Billing and accepting for fresh documents to receive Export Containers until we obtain clearance from TRA on the way forward in order that we reduce the number of containers to be on hold in the Port causing congestion.
We have decided to inform all stakeholders to be aware of the situation
With Regards
