Guys does the custodian of the US dollar have in its reserves the currencies of the countries that trade in US dollar.

In other words s there such a thing a a foreign exchange of the scale big enough to buy oil.

When ordinary folks travel across borders, they have to exchange their own money to that of the visited country.

The foreign exchange of the visited country must have, in its bank note drawers, the currency of the visitor.

Is this how it works in this other field of global trade. How does countries acquire huge sums of US dollars?
