Tanzania to use TZS 11 Trillion for Kigamboni new city

Tanzania needs a tune of $6.7 billion (Tsh11trn) to create the Kigamboni New City.

Officiating at the Ministry's Annual General Meeting that brought together over 700 land officials from all over the country, the Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development Professor Anna Tibaijuka said her ministry in collaboration with the Temeke Municipal Council was continuing with preparations of a plan to construct the new city.

Kigamboni New City is an ambitious project being overseen by the Tanzanian Government Ministry of Lands. It will be situated in the Kigamboni in Temeke district which is to the south of the city of Dar Es Salaam. It will be linked to Dar es Salaam by a new bridge which as well will cost $130 million.

The Kigamboni new city master plan is designed to build a core for accommodating new land demand such as residential, commercial, trade and business, industrial, educational and recreational facilities in Dar.

The first purpose is to create well-organized connection between old urban centers and the new city. The second purpose is to build future-oriented new model city with ICT base and excellent living environment.

The third purpose is to develop urban economic competitiveness through supplying new opportunities in advanced industry fields. Through the Kigamboni new city project, Tanzania can reinforce the leading position in the African Continent.

The New Kigamboni City includes the Kigamboni, Tungi, Vijibweni, Mjimwema and Kibada wards. And the Kizani and Mbwamaji of Somangila ward.

Tibaijuka said her ministry in collaboration with the President's Office Public Service and Management has started a process of establishing the Kigamboni New City development Authority.

Gd point mkuu maana tatizo la vigogo wa serikali yetu watataka ndiyo watokee hapo! Kila Kigogo atataka kiwanja katikati ya jiji jipya wakati hapo si mwendo wa viwanja bali majengo!!!!!!

...obviously, half the money for the project would ultimately go to these few born-with-a-silver-spoon-in-mouth beneficiaries!!
 
Btw, NSSF itatoa fungu kiasi gani na itachukua asilimia ngapi ya majukumu na/au mapato ya mradi huu?!
 
Hayo ma- city developmwnts authorities mimi siyapendagi!!! Maana lile la Dodoma huwa naona hata kinyaa, .imefilisika na bado ni kama mumiani linataka pesa zaidi toka kwa walipa kodi!!!

Hii project inawezekana tu kama private sector will be on the driving seat and the gov to be the regulator!! Basiiiii................. Angolans ni noma!!!
