It was in the 80s and 90s that the Kenyan government owned everything. Now we let the private sector do things like other civilized countries.

This new plane is not overpriced, it is low price tha why jet blue trave company of america has order 60 of them and they use very less fuel because the engine the used is similar to those of airbus A320oneo.

Interesting, how many orders for this plane has Tanzania placed with Airbus? Besides, I thought Tanzania was aligned to Boeing? Has this changed?
Stilll we got deal with boeing.. there is another 787-9 on completion it will be delivered on 2019.
About airbus is three orders of this airplane.

Some of KQs planes have to be flown to South Africa for service, and yet Tanzania (which has never operated an airline) will solve issues right there. Tanzania kweli ya viwonder.

For your info. Boeing has two offices in Africa. Johannesburg and Nairobi.
Having numbers enables manufacturers to bring service closer.

Not mentioning training of pilots. Pilots are not like drivers who can drive any model of a car.

Go back to history school , nchi ipi east africa ilikuwa ya kwanza kumiliki boeing. By then boeing 737- 200.
And yes tanzania ilikuwa na airline , just uongozi wa awamu ya tatu uliua shirika hili and but 2004 wakarud tena and this time linaboreshwa.

Its 2018 and a lot of things has changes. Ukisema iko 90s basi hata barabara za lami zitakuwa hazipo which is a lie.
 
In the first place they wanted to have a fleet of Bombardier aircrafts and boeing only due to issues like maintenance costs and cockpit commonality.When they approached boeing to buy two Boeing 737 MAX 8 and one Boeing 787-8 they were told that they will have to wait until 2019 for the MAXs.For them it was too long and dont ask me why they didnt consider an option of leasing 737s first and instead they went for CS series.C series is a great aeroplane but it is not good idea to be a launch customer.
still a great idea but for regional transport and transport within african countries.
