Let me put some of these matters in clear perspective! My source tells me the issues that led Tanzania not to sign the Report of the Council of Ministers was doctoring of the report. Tanzania during the meeting at the lower levels and even at the level of the Ministers indicated that it was not going to accept the recommendations of the Team of Experts on the Political Federation. It also objected a protocol on Defence Cooperation which required it to be part of an EAC Defence Pact. They wanted these matters ironed out before they sign the documents but the goons from the other states went ahead and signed the report while ignoring even to record the reservations pointed out by Tanzania.

Kwahiyo ambacho Tanzania imekataa kutia sahihi siyo mkataba bali ni ripoti ya Mawaziri. Mwaka huu Mwenyekiti wa Jumuiya ni Kenya na Karani (rapporteur) ni Rwanda, so unaweza kuona shida itakayokuwepo. Mimi napongeza hatua ya Mawaziri na wataalamu wetu kuonyesha msimamo katika maeneo hayo. Jumuiya ya Afrika Mashariki inaihitaji Tanzania pengine kuliko Tanzania inavyohitaji Jumuiya. Nawasilisha

Tanzania ni Kenya ya 1991, ndio nikama multiparty democracy imeingia, wanapigania bado Katiba, chama kimoja ndicho kimetawala tangu wapewe uhuru, ufisadi ndio umeanza kukidhiri katika civil service, ndio wameanza kujua umuhimu wa ardhi,.. hii ni kumaanisha bado mna njia ndefu sana ya kwenda kabla muanze kujipigia upato hapa kuhusu ardhi.

I find it really draining nowadays to discuss issues with most of these Tanzanians in here (and nope, am not leaving this forum), they are quick to judge and throw insults, we cant discuss any issue without some of them going over board and eventually the thread loses direction. EAC is not all about the land in Tanzania, I think its about time you get this in your head coz its obvious you'll lose alot from the community if you have this mentality. EAC is bigger than Tanzania, bigger than any country in the larger East Africa, the benefits easily outweigh the disadvantages, but judging from the comments, most of you will never gain anything from this community, except maybe the hate for other countries whose citizens are ready to embrace the community. Tanzania should stop feeling inferior or threatened, it should rise and contest any bias clause which doesn't favor it like the rest of the countries in the community. It shouldn't boycott meetings, because this is a juvenile act that reeks despair and lack of confidence and the will to defend what you beleive in.
Instead of praising your leaders, you should ask them where they were when the proposals were being drafted, kwani hawakukuwa kwenye mikutano?

If Tanzania is like Kenya of 1991 then why do you rush us to join you, the Kenyans of 2025. Then leave us alone sucker!
