Tanzanian Basketball Super Star, Alphaeus David Kisusi 19 year’s old, National team and Vijana "City Bulls" Basketball player left on tuesdya 17th Jan, 2012 for Canada.

Alpha will be studying International Business degree and play for Newfound Memorial University basketball team.

Alpha got this scholarship after performing very well in academic and at the basketball court, he is also much disciplined, 2011 National Basketball League (NBL) Most Valuable Player (MVP).

He has participated in many clinics including 2010 Basketball without border clinic held in Senegal conducted by Hasheem Thabeet and other NBA players, Alpha also participated at Hasheem Thabeet Sprite Basketball Clinic conducted by Hasheem Thabeet in August 2010 and in Sept 2010 he participated in Steve Smith Sprite Clinic conducted by Steve Smith former NBA All Star and Marty Conlon NBA official. Later in 2010 he went to USA with 2 other Tanzanian youth for further training, a programme that was sponsored by Coca-Cola through Sprite and was supported by US Embassy in Dar.

Last year Sept, Alpha was a Model player at the US under 16 Sports Envoys Clinic sponsored by American People through US Embassy in Dar the clinic was conducted by Dee Brown-former NBA All Star, Tamika Raymond - WNBA and Becky Bonner- NBA Official.

To get this Scholarship, Alpha competed and was the best among many players who participated in a clinic conducted last year by Coach Peter Bonoite from Newfound Memorial University, Canada and Mambo Basketball Project under Coach Bahati Mgunda in collaboration with TanSAO, this event was fully supported and endorsed by TBF.

I call upon our youth to work hard at school and in sports as well as maintain good discipline if they want to succeed.
Alpha is a product of youth clinics that we have conducted in the past few years in collaboration with our partners such as Coca-Cola, American People through US Embassy in Dar es Salaam, FHI, Ultimate Security, Tanzania Government and other stakeholders/partners.

Alpha has an opportunity to play in the NBA if he performs well at College level and follow Hasheem Thabeet steps, let's all pray for him.

Thank you, all our stakeholders and we are looking forward to work with you and other partners to help our youth development through various basketball programmes such as youth clinics, referee and coaches training, courts constructions and our other national events e.g. NBL, Taifa Cup, Muungano Cup and our participation in various International assignments.

We also thank TBL through Castle Lite who sponsored our senior tournaments 2011 Taifa Cup, I call upon other partners to join us in the long journey of youth development.
