A surprise announcement came earlier today from the head of the state for a formerly condemned TANESCO head quarters.
On his previous ultimatum, he wanted the whole building gone and he wanted it gone so fast... The bulldozing of the plaza would have to take place within thirty days at his orders.
But today, at the opening ceremony of Mloganzila campus, the head of the state was heard softening his stance and seemed to be comfortable with a haircut.
He stated that it was 'no longer necessary' to bulldoze the whole building raising it to the ground but to bulldoze only the the horn that has intruded the road section.
The news came as a surprise and a relief to the Dar es Salaam dwellers who in the past weeks were seemed to bemoan the iconic building which literarly inform every one that now you were entering Dar es Salaam.
Taking pride to the former prime minister Hon Mizengo Pinda, the head of the state boosted that, 'It was now within his powers' to demolish or spare the building much as he was the president now saying he feared for his job to execute the 'little power' he had,way back then, because by then he was a mere minister!
