Swedish cellular phone company set to open offices in Tanzania

Dovetel, a Swedish telecommunications mobile operator will open its branch in Tanzania in June, bringing the number of mobile phone companies to seven.
Athanas George, Project Manager of the ZTE Corporation, the company which has been commissioned by DOVETEL to provide telecommunications equipments, said the new mobile phone company would use code division multiple access technology to enable customers use networks that are cheaper and easy to operate.
�In order to meet this initiative, DOVETEL has commissioned ZTE to install base transceiver towers in five regions,� he said.
The towers would be installed in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Zanzibar, Mwanza and Kilimanjaro regions.
Speaking at a seminar to introduce the new company to stakeholders held in Dar es Salaam over the weekend George said, DOVETEL would present a new lifestyle and experience for mobile subscribers in Tanzania.
He said the company would offer its customers more innovative products and services with the best network service.
According to ZTE Managing Director James Zheng, ZTE, which is engaged in telecommunication services deliver innovative, custom-made products and services to over 500 operators in more than 140 countries.
�We help people to achieve continued revenue growth and to shape the future of the world�s communications,� Zheng said.
Six mobile phone companies�Zain, Tigo, Vodacom, Zantel, TTCL and BOL�are currently operating in the country.
