Standard Bank Group wins numerous Global Finance and EMEA Finance accolades

Standard Bank Group has been chosen as the Best Bank in Africa by Global Finance magazine. In addition, Standard Bank Group received the country awards for Angola, South Africa and Uganda in Global Finance’s World’s Best Emerging Markets Bank Awards 2014. These awards select top banking performers in emerging markets, and banks are judged on numerous factors including growth in assets, profitability, strategic relationships, customer service, pricing and innovative products.

Global Finance has also named Standard Bank Group as the Global Best Investment Bank in Frontier Markets and the Best Investment Bank in Africa in its 2014 World’s Best Investment Bank Awards. These awards recognise individual banks from various countries, regions and sectors across the globe, based on various elements including market share, number and size of deals, service and advice and structuring capabilities, based on deals completed in 2013.

Standard Bank Group also walked away with numerous accolades at the 2013 EMEA Finance Achievements Awards, including the house award for being named the Best Syndicated Loan House in Africa.
Some of the notable transactions for which the magazine EMEA Finance recognised Standard Bank Group in 2013, were for Standard Bank Group’s role in arranging Aspen’s multi-billion dollar funding package, and assistance and support of the African Finance Corporations’ syndicated loan – their loan market debut.
