Welcome Mr. Ssali to Tanzania. A country which had a clear road map to patriotism during a one party system and which has started evading away as we probe into multiparty. I am not certain of what influenced us to adopt western systems though, at some point and time, they are inventors of the wheel which we don't need to waste time in inventing but yet had all chances of designing and making our own social and economic ethical systems !
It is very unfortunate that, to date, after a very short time from our independence, our rulers (colonialists) stand to demand and at some time, point an accusing finger at our leaders on their failures to practice their democratic mode sort of, which, during their era, never applied nor practiced!
They are these very guys who want us to adopt their style / systems of culture and life styles which to some extent, make us pretend to be white men thus neglecting and rejecting our cultural and moral values and ethics. In such perspective, it is really hard to endeavor into patriotism, which to a large extent is of great need today and after!
Digest and cheers!

I have been watching him since 2000's. He is the best, very articulated journalist as well as well informed.

Can our History or Political Science Professors articulately tell us, from their findings, what sort of politics our continent practiced before the invasion of the colonists? And, by comparing it with the western / America democracy what would be the best or the worst of it?

Very sad for the hosts of this interview, poor hostage, poor questions shooting, less confident, Shaka Ssali is 100 times confident than them, their questions are not profound! We are poor even in this industry!!!
