Tanzania’s political trajectory has taken a troubling turn in the last year, prompting the U.S. government to cancel a $472 million Millennium Challenge Corporation compact and more broadly to reassess the country’s reputation as a stand-out democracy in sub-Saharan Africa.

Among the most important U.S. concerns was the abrupt annulment of the October 2015 election on the quasi-autonomous archipelago of Zanzibar, in which opposition leader Seif Sharif Hamad of the Civic United Front (CUF) appeared to have defeated incumbent Ali Mohamed Shein of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

The main area of concentration ni solution ya huo mgogoro wa kubuniwa na CUF na wamarekani wao!, uchaguzi wa Zanzibar ulifanyika, matokeo yakafutwa kinyume cha sheria lakini hakuna yoyote aliyepinga rasmi!.
Uchaguzi wa marudio ukaitishwa rasmi na hakuna yoyote aliyepinga rasmi, bali kuna watu walisusa!.
Uchaguzi ukarudiwa kwa huru na haki na matokeo yakatangazwa rasmi aliyeshinda kashinda na kaapishwa, sasa ni rais halali wa Zanzibar!, na uchaguzi umemalizika, uchaguzi mwingine ni 2020!.

Uwongo ukiachwa kutamalaki bila kukanushwa hugeuka ndio ukweli wenyewe, vivyo hivyo haramu ikiachwa kutamalaki, hugeuka ndio halali yeyewe, japo ni kweli kufutwa kwa uchaguzi wa October kulikuwa ni haramu, lakini kwa vile hakuna yoyote aliyepinga rasmi haramu ile, kutokupinga huko, kumeihalalisha haramu ile kugauka halali!, hivyo Dr, Shein amechaguliwa kwenye uchaguzi halali huru na wa haki hivyo ni rais halali!. Ikumbukwe ni haramu tuu ikiachwa ndio huweza kugeuka halali lakini kamwe halali haiwezi kugeuka haramu!.

Ruksa kujifaiji kuwahutubia Wamarekani na dunia isikie bali no one can do anything hadi 2020!.

Zanzibaris have a dream, a dream of change and a new beginning. Zanzibaris on October 25 overwhelmingly voted for change under leadership of Maalim Seif. Their dream for change was unceremoniously dumped by one Jecha who illegally annulled the election. We may pose the question what happens to a dream deffered? Probably it would fade a away. Poet Langston Hughes knew better. Note the last line.
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
