Sarkozy acknowledges French 'mistakes' during Rwanda genocide

KIGALI:
French President Nicolas Sarkozy acknowledged Thursday in Kigali that "mistakes" had been committed by France and other members of the international community during the 1994 Rwanda genocide.
"What happened here is unacceptable, but what happened here compels the international community, including France, to reflect on the mistakes that stopped it from preventing and halting this abominable crime," he said.
