Real Madrid and Manchester United open negotiations for Morata.[Marca]
Alvaro Morata has expressed his desire to leave Real Madrid to the club hierarchy and talks are taking place over a move to Manchester United.
Two weeks after he initially told the club that he was keen to move on to gain first team football, it now seems certain that he will end up in the Premier League.
Real's second highest goalscorer is firm in his determination to leave the club for the second time in his career.
Zinedine Zidane has made an attempt to convince the striker to change his mind but to no avail.
The situation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo and his own determination to leave Los Blancos this summer has played no part in Morata's decision-making process because the former Juventus striker is only interested in playing regular first team football at this stage of his career and believes his best chance of doing so lies away from the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Jose Mourinho has kept abreast of that situation throughout the season but has reassured the Spain international recently that he would play an important role for the Red Devils.
A reunion with Ronaldo has also been played down by Mourinho, who has detached himself from such speculation.
While an agreement is expected to be reached, Real are currently seeking 80 million euros for Morata and will not lower their asking price, safe in the knowledge that Mourinho considers signing the player as a priority for his side.
Next week, the future of Morata will be definitively decided, or at least that is the intention of the player who wants to return from his holidays with everything completed.
All that he is awaiting is an agreement to be reached between the clubs.
