Real Madrid's transfer market agenda
Zinedine Zidane is set to return to Madrid this week for a meeting with Florentino Perez, as the two men look to plan out the squad for the 2017/18 season.

Real Madrid have a number of unresolved matters in the transfer market, both in terms of arrivals and departures, the most significant of which are outlined below.

Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata still wants to depart the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and is hopeful that Manchester United will make an offer Los Blancos cannot refuse.

Kylian Mbappe

The coach has spoken with the Monaco forward's father, who was concerned about how many minutes the teenager could expect if he joins Real Madrid this summer. If Morata does leave, then Zidane wants Mbappe to arrive this window.

James Rodriguez

As much as Zidane is confident that Mbappe and Asensio would cover for James Rodriguez's departure, he also wouldn't be against the idea of the Colombian staying.

Marcos Llorente

It'll be difficult for Marcos Llorente to earn many minutes in central midfield if he is included in Real Madrid's squad this season, as he has Casemiro and Mateo Kovacic ahead of him in the defensive midfield pecking order.

Theo Hernandez

Theo Hernandez is one of the simplest additions to the squad, as he can backup Marcelo in a way that Fabio Coentrao could not.

Real Madrid and Manchester United open negotiations for Morata.[Marca]

Alvaro Morata has expressed his desire to leave Real Madrid to the club hierarchy and talks are taking place over a move to Manchester United.

Two weeks after he initially told the club that he was keen to move on to gain first team football, it now seems certain that he will end up in the Premier League.

Real's second highest goalscorer is firm in his determination to leave the club for the second time in his career.

Zinedine Zidane has made an attempt to convince the striker to change his mind but to no avail.

The situation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo and his own determination to leave Los Blancos this summer has played no part in Morata's decision-making process because the former Juventus striker is only interested in playing regular first team football at this stage of his career and believes his best chance of doing so lies away from the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Jose Mourinho has kept abreast of that situation throughout the season but has reassured the Spain international recently that he would play an important role for the Red Devils.

A reunion with Ronaldo has also been played down by Mourinho, who has detached himself from such speculation.

While an agreement is expected to be reached, Real are currently seeking 80 million euros for Morata and will not lower their asking price, safe in the knowledge that Mourinho considers signing the player as a priority for his side.

Next week, the future of Morata will be definitively decided, or at least that is the intention of the player who wants to return from his holidays with everything completed.

All that he is awaiting is an agreement to be reached between the clubs.

Vinicius Junior sees Flamengo playing time cut

Flamengo coach Ze Ricardo had started Vinicius Junior in the Rio de Janeiro club's past three matches, but the future Real Madrid player was given a run-out of just eight minutes in Thursday night's match against Chapecoense.

There had been speculation that Real Madrid were obligating Flamengo to start the player, but Ze Ricardo had no problem benching him after a lacklustre performance in the previous game against Fluminense.

His decision may also have been an attempt to prove that there was no such obligation to start the 16-year-old.

Making the night even tougher for the teenager was the fact that he had a goal ruled out for offside in the 5-1 victory, one which would have been his first in professional football.

In the short term, things could pick up for Vinicius Junior given that Everton Cardoso is suspended for the next fixture and there will be a chance to play on his natural left side, rather than the right flank.

However, the fact that Flamengo have recently signed attacking players Everton Ribeiro and Geuvanio will increase the competition for minutes.

Barca are always instigating controversies instead of accepting responsibilities for their actions.

Vilarrubi: They don't want a photograph of Cristiano Ronaldo in the dock

Lionel Messi is set to have his 21-month prison sentence swapped for a fine of 252,000 euros, but Barcelona vice-president Carles Vilarrubi has suggested that this development is related to the Cristiano Ronaldo tax case.

The Real Madrid player is accused of defrauding 14.7 million euros and the Blaugrana director wondered whether the downgrading of Messi's punishment was done to set precedent.

"I find it difficult to imagine that this would have happened had there not been a similar problem with another player," he told RAC1 about the prosecutor's decision.

"All of the developments that are taking place right now and that will take place in the coming days are so that Cristiano Ronaldo does not sit in the dock.

"They don't want there to be a photo of Ronaldo in the dock, but Messi did have to go through this."

Vilarrubi did stress that he will consider the Portuguese player innocent until proven guilty, but he pointed out that Messi wasn't always afforded the same treatment.

"I grant Ronaldo the same presumption of innocence that we gave to Messi," he stated.

"They said that [Messi] was a mafia boss fronting a family or organised crime.

"Now the minister of the tax authorities has made statements calling for Ronaldo's presumption of innocence."

Ronaldo is currently in Russia representing Portugal at the Confederations Cup and has a date in court on July 31.
