Out of Curiosity I looked at the tabulated data posted on this forum under the theme 'tathmii ya kina' and compared this with the published election results. Interesting, the postings by JF members on the votes cast were 13,289,721(65%) while those announced by NEC were 8,626,283 (?42%) I m much more inclined to believe the 65% turnout mainly because when I compared the regional figures for the most politicised regions like Arusha, the NEC figures appear unrealistically low (364,000 i.e 44% of the registered voters) while the JF figures put this at 64.9%). Similarly it becomes difficult to believe only 37% of registered Dodoma Region Voters showed up to cast their votes. I would have expected busy regions like Dar the turnout could indeed be low but not in these other places! What is your take!? But I must warn you! The JF figures are incredibly consistent in terms of % of voters who voted (64.9 -65% in all regions)!
