Uhuru's Special Gift for Burundi President

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Burundi counterpart Evariste Ndayishimiye commissioning the KSL in Kisumu on May 31, 2021.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, presented 50 heifers to his Burundi President Evariste Ndayishimiye, at the State Lodge, Kisumu on Monday 31, 2021.
In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the two heads of state are seen chatting as they walk side by side inspecting the cows.
Upon seeing the gifts, he turned to Uhuru and expressed his gratitude. President Uhuru replied by stating "You are welcome, I was told, a promise is a debt."
President Ndayishimiye and first Lady Angeline Ndayubaha arrived in Kisumu where they were received by President Uhuru and first lady Margaret Kenyatta.
The Burundi head of state is the Guest of Honor for the Madaraka day celebrations set to take place on Tuesday, June 1, at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Kisumu.
Earlier in the day, they unveiled that the two countries had signed a number of Memoranda of Understanding in a bid to enhance collaboration between the two countries.
Ndashimiye urged Kenyans to capitalize on the investments in Burundi.
He also emphasized the quick implementation of the MOUs signed. He expressed his commitment to strengthening business ties between the two countries.
The two countries vowed to collaborate on matters agriculture, livestock, fisheries, foreign affairs, and education.
In 2019, President Uhuru visited Tanzania after a misunderstanding between the two neighbours. Tanzania had threatened to take diplomatic actions against Kenya.
After discussions between the two leaders, the Late President Magufuli gifted Uhuru a peacock. He stated that the gift would symbolize understanding and peaceful co-existence between the two countries.
On a light note, the president stated that he had never given his peacocks to any head state.
