Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania Dkt John Pombe Magufuli leo anatarajiwa kuwa mgeni rasmi katika utoaji wa tuzo za Rais za mzalishaji bora wa mwaka 2015 (President's Manufacturer of the Year Awards 2015 (PMAYA) ) zitakazofanyika katika Hoteli ya Serena Jijini Dar es Salaam.

Tuzo hizo zitashirikisha kampuni takribani 350 zilizopo katika sekta ya uzalishaji nchini.
Mbali na utoaji tuzo Rais Magufuli vilevile atatembelea maonesho yaliyoandaliwa pamoja na kuzindua nembo ya tuzo hizo.

President of Tanzania to attend President’s Manufacturer of the Year Awards

President’s Manufacturer of the Year (PMAYA) Awards scheduled to be held on May 31, 2016 at the Serena Hotel Dar es salaam which will be graced by HE John Pombe Magufuli, President of the United Republic of Tanzania as the chief guest. Bank M Tanzania plc is the main sponsor of this year’s event.

Speaking to the press yesterday, The Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) Executive Director Mr. Leodgar said, “PMAYA aims to recognise and appreciate the industrial sector’s important role in Tanzania’s economic development process. For the past eleven consecutive years, CTI has been staging this most prestigious members’ event covering all sectors of production and services. The main objective of these awards includes recognising the pertinent role of the industrial sector’s contribution to the national economy, to encourage and motivate investors in the industrial sector, to publicise the importance of the industrial sector in the country, raising the standard of business practises and promote sound corporate governance in the country etc.” Also Tenga thanked Bank M for coming on board to support the awards this year as the main sponsors.

Bank M’s CEO (Designate) Ms. Jacqueline Woiso said that the PMAYA competition is one avenue that challenges corporate companies to improve on quality of products and services to the public. “Bank M we are proud to support the local manufacturing industry not only financially and in banking services but also through this prestigious competition.” said Ms. Woiso.

The President’s Manufacturer of the year Awards is an annual event that is organised by the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) to award the outstanding manufacturers of the preceding year. The competition climaxes with the Annual Business luncheon where winners will be awarded their trophies by the President. The president is also a patron of CTI.

Regarding this year’s preparations, the CTI Director of Policy and Advocacy Mr. Hussein Kamote assured the press that all the arrangements are going well and all the requirements are in place, “we are ready for the event”, attributed Mr. Kamote.

The awards introduced in 2005 with the aim of recognising and appreciating the manufacturing sector’s important role in Tanzania’s economic development process.

The Awards are given to companies in small, medium and large manufacturer categories that exhibit a high degree of economic impact. This year’s event will gather Tanzania’s most prominent business leaders, corporate executives, industrialists and professionals, about 300 guests from the private sector and government institutions will attend.
