An Iranian national known by the name of Mr Hamidreza Mohammad Abraheh has been deported from the country by the Tanzania Immigration Department after it was found that he was involved in planning and carrying out activities that endanger the security of the country and that of other nations (cross-border crime).
Mr Abraheh was granted a visa to live in Tanzania after he misled the Immigration Department that he was married in the country while presenting various government documents to prove that and Immigration failed to realise it.
The information about the arrest and extradition of the Iranian was given yesterday by Tanzania’s Commissioner for Immigration, Management and Border Control, Mr Samwel Mahirane while speaking to reporters in Dar es Salaam about the wave of immigrants in the country, who connive with Tanzanians to commit crimes.
The Iranian violated the terms of his tourist visa contrary to section 45(1)(m) of the Immigration Act Chapter 54 reference 2016 and managed to live in the country for six months without being detected.
Commissioner Mahirane said after the arrest of the Iranian nation and interrogated thoroughly, it was confirmed that he was a criminal who was determined to plan and carry out activities that could endanger the security of the country and that of other nations.

Mr Mahirane said on December 6, this year (yesterday), the Immigration Department removed the Iranian with passport number H46000576 after it was found that he had committed various immigration offences.
“He gave false information when applying for a visa, which is contrary to section 45(1)(a)(b)(c) and (h) of the Immigration Act Chapter 54, he submitted a forged marriage certificate that he claimed to have married a Tanzania citizen, whereby our authorities failed to prove the certificate and he used it repeatedly to come into the country,” he said.
