Avocado farmers in the country will now be able to export their commodity to China after President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping signed a deal.
The deal which was signed on Thursday, April 25, will see the Chinese market absorb more than 40% of Kenya’s avocado.
A report by the Standard shows the deal also open Chinese markets to other Kenyan horticultural products including flowers, mangoes, French beans, peanut, vegetables, meat and macadamia.
“It is estimated that when the agreement is fully implemented, the Chinese market will absorb over 40 percent of Kenya’s avocado produce, making it one of the largest importers of the fruit,” State House said.

Its good news so far, its right time now our government to glance the market as well.
