President Samia has been awarded Honorary Doctorate Degree in Russia

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) by RUDN University in Russia, popularly known as Patrice Lumumba University, in recognition of her contribution to excellent leadership, diplomacy, and social development.

The degree was conferred during President Samia's state visit to Russia, where she has been holding talks to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between Tanzania and Russia.

According to the university, the award also recognizes President Samia's contribution to elevating Tanzania's international standing, advancing reforms in the education sector, as well as her efforts to promote economic diplomacy and international cooperation.

This milestone further demonstrates the strengthening of relations between Tanzania and international educational institutions, particularly in the areas of research, higher education, and social development.

The degree comes a day since President Samia Suluhu Hassan hs met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen and maintain the historic relations between Tanzania and Russia.
