Our Prime Minister,Honorable Pinda was in Namibia for a state visit.He seems to have been impressed by what he saw in that country in general terms. Specifically he had time to visit the Namibian fish industry where he was briefed about the performance of the industry to date.He was told that the industry was in a terrible shape some years ago.In short as terrible as our fish industry today.Pinda was especially impressed by steps taken to bring the industry to its present glory.He was told that even military personnel and ships were used to curb illegal fishing in Namibian waters.To me there was nothing special about the means used by Namibia to bring back its fish industry to its present glory.We also have the military and the brains to do the job.We only need commitment and the will to do so.Lets not forget that our country is loosing a lot of foreign exchange because of illegal fishing.This money could help to revive our ailing economy and hence improve the living standards of our people.What you saw in Namibia Pinda can also be done in Tanzania,we only need to wake up.
