Dodoma. Things are hotting up as the ruling CCM cracks down on corrupt political cadres by roping in the anti-corruption bureau to help vet potential candidates for leadership posts within the party as it gears up for a tough race in the upcoming 2015 General Election.
As Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) stalwarts convened in the Tanzanian capital yesterday, spokesperson Mr Nape Nnauye told The Citizen on Sunday that they have in place specific mechanisms to ensure corrupt individuals do not make it to the upper echelons of the ruling party.
"We have given the PCCB [Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau] leeway to deal with any candidate or voter who entertains bribery without having to worry about their position within the party," said the CCM publicity secretary.
