Job Purpose:

This is a uniformed position that requires a Chief Fire Officer to competently manage, supervise and control all fire-fighting and associated activities within PDOs Fire Service. To plan and manage the resources in the most cost-effective manner whilst complying with Company standards, procedures, guidelines and best practices.

(Roles &) Accountabilities:

Essentially the majority of hours worked will be within the Coastal Location at Mina al Fahal. However there will be some traveling to those locations where PDOs Fire Service is operating. A degree of flexibility will need to be adopted with this post as the Fire Service operates on a 24 hour basis and there will an expectation to be contactable outside normal hours of working.

Purpose of the Job:

Government Gas Engineering (GGE) Team is responsible for implementing Government Gas Projects. The budget for the Five years plan 2006-2010 is approved at US$ 2.56 billion. The actual annual budget for 2006 and 2007 is US$ 0.46 billion and US$ 0.51 billion respectively with more then 30 projects under implementation. A full fledged project services (GGE/4) section has been set up since Aprill 2003 to provide support and services to implement these projects on time, budget, and within schedule.

A position of Information Controller (GGE/45) has been established in this section with the responsibility to develop, establish and manage the information technology and management information systems.

Experience/Qualifications Needed:

* BTec or equivalent.

* A minimum of 5 years experience in preparation of project reports and document control.

* Experience and skill in developing and implementing of web sites both content and technique

Principal Accountabilities:

Web master with the single point responsibility to design, develop and maintain the Gas web and publicize information and news on the Intranet. Develop the intranet into an even more useful tool for staff. Initiate web activities that support this process in order to provide proactive initiatives to enhance the Gas team reputation.

IT Budget Focal Point for GD team. Prepare forecast of computing requirements considering the expansion of the team and initiate timely action to procure the required hardware and software. Prepare budget estimates and obtain necessary approvals to support the procurement process. In the role of computing budget focal point, establish regular cost monitoring and control. GAS IT Asset management & control

Develop and maintain a web based Engineering Management Information System (MIS) which facilitates provision of structured data and information and support effective management of the GGE projects. Regular updates to assure that live management information is available to senior supervisors and managers.

Develop and maintain a GGE action tracking system which will function as an effective monitoring tool to capture and track various actions arising out of Value Assurance Review (VAR), Value Engineering, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Design Reviews, Hazop, MOG reviews etc.

Establish a structured document (electronic and hard copy) control system for GGE and prepare necessary management procedures to support. upload documents on livelink. Carry out document control function for GGE/1/2/3/4/6 sections.

Computer proficient with excellent knowledge in standard software,Excell, Word, MSAccess and web design.

Good networking skills to effectively interact with other team members.

Be able to work in a multi cultural team.

Job Title: Production Technologist – Studies

Purpose of the Job:

Studies team are responsible for executing studies on behalf of the reservoir management teams. These studies will have a clear start (via V2V ) and clear end point, e.g. via FDP and VAR 3. Integrated production system modeling study delivery is a cornerstone of production growth. It is essential that studies are delivered on time and that the product is value assured. The dedicated studies environment is intended to allow separation and clear demarcation of the integrated production system modeling process from operational and WRM roles. The staffing model contains a mix of highly experienced PEs and PGs and talented first assignees (less than 5 years experience), leading to greater involvement and skills development of/for Oman staff in integrated production system modeling and field (re)development planning. PDO needs staff experienced in integrated production system modeling. They will be expected to make a significant contribution to PDO’s future production by demonstrating technical excellence in the execution of these studies to deliver field (re) development plans. In addition, experienced staff are expected to play a significant role in the coaching and development of their less experienced colleagues.

Principle Accountabilities:

* Ensure that Production Technology standards are maintained and meet the T&OE minimum standard, and that best practices are implemented, in your own area of work and across PDO. This will include participation in, and possibly leading, internal PDO project reviews.
* Make a major technical contribution to PDO’s medium and long term production growth by working in an integrated team of geoscientists and petroleum engineers to deliver robust plans giving options for future field development.
* Formulate the design philosophy and life-cycle conceptual design for development wells.
* Carry out detail design of artificial lift systems (ESP, Gaslift and Beam Pumps) to optimise their performance in future development scenarios.
* Deliver Production Technology excellence in integrated facilities studies in PDO.
* Provide input to field development plans with emphasis on well design, artificial lift selection, water and gas management, and the application of appropriate secondary and EOR techniques. This requires effective liaison not only with other Petroleum Engineering disciplines, but also with Well Engineering, Process Engineering and Production Operations staff.
* Coach and mentor less experienced staff in line with the staff development plans.
* Ensure that fit for purpose technology is incorporated, and that optimum use is made of existing facilities and infrastructure for new fields and ongoing developments.

Experience and Qualifications:

+ University degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent technical subject

+ Minimum number of 10 years relevant experience in the Petroleum Industry.
