It is very strange in this part of the world, where some people would put other people behind bars, then fail to prove beyond any resonable doubt of their guiltness, but eventually because of their "good hearts" decide to offer amnesty to the accused. But this amnesty requires the accused to:
1. Confess the wrong doing
2.The accused are not supposed to involve lawyers in their confession
3.They have to pay for their freedom
If you are searching for the meaning of Kangaroo "Tribunals", you don't need to go far, We just have them here in our own backyard!.
One would ask himself, why should the government involve itself in selling Freedoms of its own people?.
Where does a so called 'considerate heart' come from after someone has subjected innocent people to so much suffrage?
It was inconceivable to me for a government to act as an Extortionist!. A government that would willingly kidnap its own people, incarcerate them and then require them to pay for their freedom. This is insane!
We as a nation should not sink so low to behave like thuggs, mafia mobs or terrorists who would capture people and extort money from them or require ransom!. We should be a just society that upholds justice.
Also this draconian act puts the whole thing to question, do we have separation of powers of which the courts are free or the court is sometimes used as a torture rubber stamp to allow the government to torture whom it wants at any time?
No doubt in this regime all tools of checks and balances are no longer independent, they have willingly relinquished their powers to the government to be used as tools of tramping on peoples freedoms and justice. In short neither the Parliament nor the Courts can stand up and put to hold the tyranny of this government!.
