Padri wa katoliki katika dayosisi ya Kiyinda Mityana, Lawrence Muduse na wengine ambao ni John Kulumba Mkubwa, John Kulumba Mdogo, Jane Nankabirwa Kulumba, Ibrahim Muyingo, Robert Ssenyange na Fred Kayongo wamewekwa rumande wakikabiliwa na tuhuma za kumuua Bwana Muhammad Kimbugwe mkazi wa kijiji cha Minaana.

Ripoti inaeleza kuwa, Padri huyo pamoja na wengine saba walipokuwa katika kijiji cha Minaana siku ya tarehe 7 Agosti, 2019 walimuua Bwana Muhammad wakati akiwa anasambaza barua kwa wapangaji wake katika ardhi yake iliyopo kijijini hapo.

Aidha, watuhumiwa hao nane wamewekwa rumande mpaka siku ya Desemba, 04 kesi yao itakaposomwa mbele ya Mahakama Kuu ya Halmashauri ya Wilaya ya Mityana.

Court heard that the eight on the 7th day of August 2019 while at Minaana village, Tamu Division in Mityana Municipality murdered Muhammad Kimbugwe Kamada (50) a resident of Minaana village as he reportedly distributed letters to tenants on his land measuring about one square mile.

A Catholic priest attached to Kiyinda Mityana Diocese and seven others have been remanded till 4th December 2019 when the murder case against the eight will come up for mention at the Mityana Chief Magistrate Court in Mityana District.

The Eight who Rev Fr Lawrence Muduse attached to Kiyinda Mityana Diocese, John Kulumba Senior, John Kulumba Junior, Jane Nankabirwa Kulumba, Ibrahim Muyingo, Robert Ssenyange and, Fred Kayongo appeared before the Mityana Chief Magistrate Juliana Kimono on Wednesday 27th on a charge of murder.

Court heard that the eight on the 7th day of August 2019 while at Minaana village, Tamu Division in Mityana Municipality murdered Muhammad Kimbugwe Kamada (50) a resident of Minaana village as he reportedly distributed letters to tenants on his land measuring about one square mile.

The trial magistrate did not allow the eight to take plea in Court since the case against them is of capital nature and only triable by the High Court.
"This Court has no jurisdiction to try this case, you are further remanded till December 4th when the case will come up in Court for mention," Ms Juliana Kimono the Chief Magistrate told the suspects.

The deceased’s land covers four villages including Minaana, Kabule, Galabi and Kamuvole, all located in Tamu Division, Mityana Municipality. At the time the deceased was attacked, he had reportedly distributed letters to eight households at Minaana village.

The Daily Monitor has however learnt from the Mityana State Attorney, Ms Cate Batuuse that Fr Muduse was granted Court bond unlike the other suspects who are still on remand. Fr Muduse is supposed to appear in Court in person whenever the case comes up for mention without fail, Ms Batuuse clarified.
