If you are tired of paying for software, cannot pirate for technical or ethical reasons, frustrated with MS Office or all of the above here is an alternative Office suite that does almost everything you can do with MS Office, including creating files that are MS Office compatible (.doc, .xls,.ppt , .mdb etc )

..00o imetulia,

..ila,can you be frustrated with ms office, really?

Without frustrations it wouldn't be software.

I'd rather get free frustrations than pay fro frustrations as you have pointed out. But the "open" nature of OpenOffice is attractive, if you have programming background you can actually contribute towards making it better, if not it is very receptive to user concerns.

Microsoft on the other hand, is closed.

Free frustrations without customer help for corporate customers with cash to splash amounts to wasted productivity, or let's just say money!

However the opposite is true; like you say,for individuals with time on their hand to debug products when things don't go their way.

Bruv, don't get me wrong, I'm indeed in support of all GNU general users free products. And contribute to some as a matter of fact.

I think the disagreement arose from the word 'frustration' on your first post. Things settled by your last comment. Thank you.

BTW, there is a (comprehensive- somewhat!) review or rather one that I personally find interesting. You can check it here:

laters,

For example, by default Word 2007 saves files in a format that is not backward compatible (to Word 97 - 2003).You have to select the compatible format.

..who says in 00o you don't get this kind of thing? the default thing!

..but for a free app, it rocks!

..steve,

..hiyo kitu kwa matumizi binafsi haina tatizo,na kama ulivyosema, kama unafanya biashara how do you expect to get support for free? those are man hours!

..but slowly kuna kampuni zinaanza kutoa support kwa open source oss na apps, kwa gharama ndogo.

..open source is going to power a new breed of small businesses. europe is leading for now!

naikubali sana, ndio naitumia siku hizi baada ya kuona ubahili kununua online
