Kuna Waislamu wangapi wengine Wasomi nchi hii lakini walalamikaji kuhusu madai ya ubaguzi na uonevu dhidi ya umma ya Waislamu ni wewe na Njozi tu?
 
Waislamu milioni 29 au zaidi lakini kazi unazotegemea kujenga hoja zako za ubaguzi na uonevu dhidi ya Waislamu ni za Muislamu Njozi pekee. Ningetegemea kila mwaka vitabu angalau 100 kuhusu uonevu dhidi ya Waislamu na waandishi Wasomi Waislamu. Cha ajabu kila mara unakuja na majina ya Sivalon, Njozi na Bergen. Mimi nilifurahi kuwa anaandika kitabu ambacho kitaongeza maarifa katika historia ya Tanganyika.

Kitabu hiki kilipishana kidogo na kitabu cha Njozi.
Kitabu cha Njozi kilitangulia kuchapwa.

Tulipata majonzi kuwa kimefuatia kitabu cha Prof. Mbogoni ambacho kiliingia nchini na kusomwa wakati kitabu cha Njozi kimepigwa marufuku na serikali ikawa ni kosa la jinai kukutwa nacho.
 
NINAVYOMKUMBUKA MAALIM

Kumtembelea Maalim Seif nyumbani kwake ni mfano Waingereza wangesema ‘’a walk in the park,’’ Kiswahili chake labda mtu ungesema unatoka chumbani kwako unakuja sebuleni yaani ni wepesi usiomithilika.

Maalim nimefahamiananae kwa mara ya kwanza 1992 nilionananae Starlight Hotel Titi Street, Dar es Salaam.

Hizi zilikuwa siku za mwanzo za siasa za vyama vingi.

Miaka mingi imepita na hapa katikati tukionana kwa mbali sana na kwa muda mfupi mfupi ile ya kupeana salaam, Waswahili wanausemi, ‘’Salaam ya Mungu,’’ ikiwa na maana mnasalimiana kisha mnapitana kila mtu na hamsini zake.

Naamini Maalim akinisoma na wakati mwingine akinisikia katika vyombo vya habari, pia wakati mwingine akipata salaam zangu kupitia jamaa na marafiki.

Lakini mimi Maalim nimemfuatilia kwa karibu na nimempiga picha nyingi sana kwa kiasi ya miaka ishirini na zaidi.

Iki siku nilipata bahati ya kumfikia nyumbani kwake Sharif Shamba, Ilala mbali na matarumbeta na shamrashamra za mikutano na mengineyo.

Ilikuwa starehe tukinywa kahawa na kucheka mfano tuko barzani tunapumzika.

Hata hivyo tabu kukutana na mtu kama Maalim Seif ukaacha kumdodosa lau kwa mbali kwa namna ya maskhara.

Najua kitabu cha Ali Muhsin kakisoma kilipochapwa tu mwaka wa 1997 lakini niliona nimepelekee kama zawadi kuchokoza upya fikra zake.

Mimi binafsi katika kitabu cha Ali Muhsin moja ya sehemu iliyokamata fikra zangu ni pale anapohadithia yale aliyokutananayo katika jela mbalimbali za Tanganyika wakati alipofungwa baada ya mapinduzi.

Nikamrushia Maalim swali, ''Maalim tupate basi kitabu makhsusi ulipokuwa kifungoni.''

Kacheka kidogo.
Nilikuwa nimemkumbusha mbali.

Jibu lake lilikuwa, ''In Shaallah.''

Sikumuacha karibu nikaongeza na ''Memoirs...'' yaani kumbukumbu za maisha yake.

Mara ya mwisho kuwa jirani sana na Maalim ilikuwa mwaka wa 2012 Bwawani Hotel nikiwa na TV Imaan tulikokwenda kumsikiliza Maalim akizungumza kuhusu hali ya Zanzibar na mategemeo ya wananchi.

Sasa ilikuwa miaka minne ishapita.

Maalim alikuwa yuko serikalini.

Nakumbuka shida niliyowapa walinzi pale nilipoingia katika chumba cha faragha alipokuwa Maalim Seif, Mzee Hassan Nasoro Moyo na viongozi wengine.

Mimi nilikuwa nje na wala sikuwa na nia ya kuingia ndani ya chumba kile kwani mtangazaji na mtu wa kamera tayari walikuwa ndani ya chuma kile wakishughulika.

Hawa vijana wote wana vitambulisho shingoni vinaning'inia na watu wa usalama weshawaruhusu.

Mimi sina chochote lakini Ismail Jussa ndiye kanishika mkono tunazungumza basi hadi mle chumbani nikawa sasa uso kwa uso na Maalim.

Ikawa sasa tunazungumza hili na lile, ''easy.''

Nimefungua ''tablet,'' yangu nampiga picha Maalim na wakati mwingine kumwelekeza ''pose,'' niitakayo na Maalim akiniridhia.

Kumbe jamaa wa Usalama kidogo weshafanya wasiwasi wa kutaka kunijua mie nani.

Mara niko kwa Mzee Moyo tunazunguza na kucheka.

Jamaa wa Usalama bado hawajanijua mie nani.

Mara nimemrukia Eddy Riyami basi ikawa kwao wao ni tafrani kidogo.

Nilipotoka nje tu wakanifikia kwa maswali...

Jicho halisahau kile ambacho jicho la kamera liliona.

Naomba kamera yangu ikuchukue katika barabara ya kumbukumbu turudi nyuma zaidi ya miaka 30 iliyopita pale nilipoanza kufuatilia nyayo za Maalim na wale waliokuwa pamoja nae.

Historia mpya ya Zanzibar bila shaka watakapokuja kuandika watafiti wa historia ya visiwa hivi itatoa umuhimu wa pekee katika uchaguzi wa mwaka 1995.

Kwa mara ya kwanza wananchi wa Zanzibar walitikisa na pengine mtu unaweza kusema walivunja ngome ya dhana ya, ''Mapinduzi Daima.''

CCM Zanzibar walishindwa uchaguzi ule.

Imewezekana vipi kwa kipindi cha miaka mitatu tu ya uhai wa CUF ikaweza kuwa na nguvu ya kupambana kukishinda katika sanduku la kura chama kilicho na dola na fursa zote zinazokwenda na dola.

Tume ya Uchaguzi Zanzibar ilishindwa kutoa matokeo ya uchaguzi kwa siku tatu.

Yaliyobakia ni historia.

Endapo Maalim ataandika kumbukumbu zake sura hii ya uchaguzi wa mwaka wa 1995 utakuwa na mengi ya kusisimua.

Nilikuwapo Zanzibar kipindi kile na niliona hali ya Zanzibar kwa jicho langu. Kitu ambacho nakikumbuka ni siku baada ya matokeo kucheleweshwa nkiwa nmekaa Malindi nikamuona Baraka Shamte katika magwanda ya kijani akipita barabarani huku akipiga makelele mathalan ya mtu aliyepagwawa akisema, ''We have won the election we are going to form the government.''

Lakini kitu cha ajabu hata wale CCM waliokuwa wamezagaa katika vikundi vidogo vidogo walikuwa kama wamenyeshewa na mvua.

Walikuwa kimya wakizungumza kwa sauti za chini.

Taarifa zilikuwa zimewafikia kuwa Maalim Seif Sharif Hamad kashinda uchaguzi na kamwangusha Komando Dr. Salmin Amour.

Mwaka wa 2012 baada ya miaka 17 kupita na hali ya siasa za Zanzibar kubadilika, Maalim na CUF wakipata nguvu kila kukicha nilifanya mahojiano ya televisheni na Baraka Shamte, kada mkubwa wa CCM na mwana ASP.

Wakati huu Maalim alikuwa Makamu wa Rais wa Zanzibar.

Nimepata kumjadili Baraka Shamte mara kadhaa katika mitandao ya kijamii.

Siku ile nilipokutana na Maalim kwa mara ya kwanza pale Starlight Hotel aliniuliza uwezekano wa CUF kupata wanachama Bara.

Fikira ya Maalim ilikuwa ni kuwapata wazee wetu wa Dar es Salaam kuunga mkono CUF.

Mimi nikamwambia kuwa wazee wetu tuwaache kwa sasa tulenge vijana.

Nakumbuka nilirudi tena kwa Maalim na baadhi ya vijana wachache viongozi na tukabadilishana mawazo.

Vijana hawa walikuwa wametokea chama cha National Reconstruction Alliance (NRA) ambako mwenyekiti alikuwa Prof. Malima na alipokufa ikawa vijana wamepwelewa.

Uchaguzi wa kwanza wa vyama vingi 1995 ulikuwa umewadia.

Vijana wakaja kwa Maalim na Prof. Ibrahim Lipumba moto ukawaka upya na matumaini mapya yakaibuka.

Mimi ndiye niliyemtambulisha Prof. Lipumba katika Mkutano Mkuu wa CUF usiku wa manane katika Ukumbi wa Starlight.

Miaka ile kwa shida ya fedha CUF wakifanya mikutano yao usiku na asubuhi wajumbe wanatawanyika wanarejea makwao.

Kwa kuwa sikuwa mjumbe katika mkutano ule nilisubiri nje ya ukumbi pale Star Light hadi nilipoingizwa ukumbini kwa kazi hiyo tu kisha niakatoka nje kupisha mkutano uendelee.

Naamini Maalim hakujuta kwa kuletewa vijana badala ya wazee wetu kwani kila alipopita mikoani na vijijini wakati wa kampeni za uchaguzi alipokelewa na vijana ambao hakuna aliyejua walikotokea.

Baadae zilitufikia taarifa kuwa wapinzani wetu walishangazwa ni lini tulijenga mtandao ule wa nchi nzima na bila shaka swali hili pia lilikuwa kichwani kwa Maalim.

Iko siku In Shaallah tutaelezana ni vipi hawa vijana walipatikana na tulikuwa na hadi na anuani zao pamoja na nyumba na mtaa...ni hadithi ya kusisimua sana...

Tulikuwa sisi ndiyo waasisi wa ''mtandao.''

Mtandao wa Kikwete, Lowassa, Rostam wa 2005 uliomtia madarakani Jakawa Kikwete ulikuja miaka kumi baada yetu ila tofauti ilikuwa moja tu.

Sisi ni watu masikini ya Mungu hatukuwa na fedha kilichokuwa kikitusukuma ni mapenzi ya nchi yetu na ari ya kupigania usawa na haki kwa kila mwananchi bila ya ubaguzi.

Uchaguzi. wa mwaka wa 1995 ulitufunza mengi na kilipotoka kitabu changu, ''The Life and Times of Abdulwahid Sykes (1924- 1968) The Untold Story of the Muslim Struggle Against British Colonialism in Tanganyika,'' kitabu kilifungua mlango mwingine wa kuwafikia vijana wa Kiislam wasomi.

Kitabu kilifungua historia mpya haijapatapo kuandikwa popote na kubwa zaidi ya yote mchango wa Waislam katika uhuru wa Tanganyika.

Vijana walipatwa na butwaa kusoma kuwa TANU haikuasisiwa kama walivyokuwa wakifundishwa katika historia, na Nyerere bali na marehemu Abdulwahid Sykes.

Historia waliokuwa vijana wakisomeshwa toka shule ya msingi hadi chuo kikuu ikaporomoka kwa kasi ya ajabu.

Harakati hizi mpya za chama kingine nje ya CCM ikapata wafuasi wapya.

Sasa likazuka tabaka lau kama ni dogo la wasomi vijana wa Kiislam ambao kwa yale waliyoyasoma katika kitabu kile wakahisi wao na wazee wao ni jamii iliyodhulumiwa kwani haiwezekani Waislam wapiganie uhuru kwa kiasi kile kisha mwishowe uhuru wenyewe usiwanufaishe kitu.

Hapa ndipo nilipogundua kosa nililofanya la kuandika kitabu kwa Kiingereza badala ya Kiswahili na hivyo kukosa wasomaji wengi.

Kwa upande wa vijana wa Kizanzibari nao walishangazwa kusikia kuwa Sheikh Hassan bin Amir Mzanzibari alipigania uhuru wa Tanganyika bega kwa bega na Julius Nyerere na akina Abdul Sykes.

CUF haikuwa na tabu kwa vijana wasomi Zanzibar.

Lile lilikuwa jimbo lao salama.
Shida ilikuwa katika vyuo vikuu Bara.

Katika uchaguzi wa 1995 tulimsindikiza Prof. Lipumba aliyekuwa mgombea urais wa Bara kwa tiketi ya CUF kuzungumza kwenye vyuo vikuu.

Hivi vyuo vikuu Bara vilikuwa ngome ya CCM.

Wanafunzi waliokuja kumsikiliza Prof. Lipumba walikuja zaidi katika kumkejeli kuliko kumsikiliza kama mgombea urais na mchumi bingwa.

Lakini uchaguzi wa mwaka wa 2000 umma uliojitokeza katika mikutano ya Maalim na Prof. Lipumba ulitisha CCM.

Huwezi kummaliza Maalim na kumkamilisha katika kumweleza itahitaji kuandika kitabu kizima cha maisha yake.

Ilikuwa azma yangu nikaenae kitako niandike historia ya chaguzi zote sita alizopata kugombea urais wa Zanzibar, chaguzi ambazo inasemekana zote aliwashinda wapinzani wake nikiamini kuwa historia hii ni muhimu kuhifadhiwa kwa kizazi kijacho.
