Ngara sends 20 illegal aliens home

A total of 20 people from neighbouring Rwanda who were hiding at Kasenge village, in Ngara district, have been repatriated to their country.


Ngara District Commissioner (DC) Constantine Kanyasu, confirmed that the aliens comprising of five families, entered the country illegally and were deported on Monday, this week. Kagera Regional Police Commander (RPC) Philip Kalangi also confirmed that the aliens were handed over to authorities from
Kigali.


Meanwhile, over 400 families from Rwinyana village, in Ngara district will be resettled to pave way for a nickel mining company. Ward Executive Officer (WEO) for Bugarama, Yosamu John, said the company was finalizing compensation of affected families.


He said the families had been allocated new plots. In another development, Karagwe District Council has set aside a total of 17m/- for rehabilitation of Igurwa- Kanoni-Rwanyango road. For quite a long time residents of Kanoni Ward were facing difficulties to transport patients to clinic that is 7 kms away.
