Amani kwenu wazalendo wenzangu:

Baada ya salaam ningependa kusema kuwa uchaguzi uliopita una mapungufu makubwa sana. Mapungufu mengi ni ya masuala ya kikatiba ambayo yamekuwepo kwa muda mrefu kuanzia uchaguzi wa 1995. Mapungufu hayo hayakujionyesha sana katika vipindi vya uchaguzi vilivyopita kwa sababu wagombea wa chama tawala walikuwa hawana upinzani mkubwa. Hivyo kasoro zote za kikatiba zilifunikwa na umaarufu wa kihistoria wa CCM. Kwa kipindi cha uchaguzi cha 2015, Tanzania itakaribisha wapiga kura wapya wapatao 1.5 miloni au waliozaliwa mwaka 1995 na baadaye.

Hatutajitendea haki wenyewe na kizazi kipya iwapo tutaendelea kutumia katiba iliyo sasa kama mwongozo wa kuendeleza nchi. Hivyo kwa maombi yangu binafsi, wazalendo wa Tanzania tuanze kusukuma mabadiliko ya kikatiba. Ninapoita wazalendo, nina maana wananchi bila kujali itikadi zao vyama vya kisiasa, dini au ukabila.

Bila ya kutaja matatizo ya katiba yetu, ningependa kueleza toka tumepata uhuru katiba ya Tanzania imekuwa ni kitu kisichoeleweka wazi kwa wananchi. Tuliosoma shule wakati somo la siasa linafundishwa mashuleni, tulikuwa tunafundishwa katiba ya CCM na miongozi ya chama hicho. Hivyo basi kuna uwezekano mkubwa hata wanasiasa wetu wengi hawajui umuhimu wa kitabu hicho.

Hivyo ningependa kufungua ukumbi kwa kuwakaribisha wenye mawazo na nia ya kubadilisha katiba kutoa mawazo yao.

Na vilevile kama kutakuwa na watu wanaotaka kuanzisha jumuia ya kufanya mabadiliko ya kikatiba, naomba mjitokeze.

Sasa jamani kama kuna mapungufu kwenye katiba ya sasa,jukumu letu si kuielewa vzr katiba inayopendekezwa ili tuwaelimishe na wengine ktk maeneo yetu na mwisho tuweze kupiga kura wakati wa kuipigia kura ukifika,tuache kulalamika vijana wenzangu,tusome katiba tuliyoiandika wenyewe kama watanzania

Hee wewe hakuna katiba ya chama,tumedumu kwa mika 53 tukiwa poa ma tunataka tuendeleze mafanikio haya na new katiba hapana chezea wtz,nachosema watz wa sasa tuko understanding umenisoma acha kudanganya wewe toa hoja nyingine!!!

Sasa jamani kama kuna mapungufu kwenye katiba ya sasa,jukumu letu si kuielewa vzr katiba inayopendekezwa ili tuwaelimishe na wengine ktk maeneo yetu na mwisho tuweze kupiga kura wakati wa kuipigia kura ukifika,tuache kulalamika vijana wenzangu,tusome katiba tuliyoiandika wenyewe kama watanzania

Zakumi nashangaa kuona unashtuka kuona post ya mwaka 2010 na hata ingekuwa ya mwaka 1995 watu wangechangia tu kutokana na umuhimu wake kwa jamii, suala tajwa sasa linafanyiwa kazi naamini tutapata kile tunachokitarajia na kufuta ndoto zote za back years!

Tell them we are tired of people who have no time to read but keep on criticising what they don't know. I don't know where does this kind of reading idleness come from. Knowledge is hidden in the books like it is the Katiba Inayopendekezwa.

What's wrong with you people? I started this thread in 2010, right after the general election. Once the debate had gotten some traction, I stopped my contribution in this forum. So I don't know why you are pointing fingers at me as if the issue was written yesterday.

Now with regard to the upcoming referendum, I surrendered my Tanzanian citizenship and wouldn't, therefore, qualify to vote.

I wish all Tanzanians the best, and I believe that those who have constitutional right to vote will make informed decisions.

What's wrong with you people? I started this thread in 2010, right after the general election. Once the debate had gotten some traction, I stopped my contribution in this forum. So I don't know why you are pointing fingers at me as if the issue was written yesterday.

Can you please scroll back and read the date of the first post in this thread? I wrote that post in 2010. How could I argue correctly back then when the proposed constitution wasn't even on the table? Am I a time traveler? It seems to me that your frame of mind is so recent.

With respect to the proposed constitution, I haven't made an argument about it. So I can't be correct or wrong and I don't know why you people are so upset with the commentary I made in 2010 regarding the current outdated constitution.

Other concerned Tanzanians and I played our part well before you were aware that the country needs a new constitution. I am glad now that the issue has gained some traction and ordinary members of public are part of the conversation.

The goal of the constitution isn't to have either a new country or a better tomorrow, but rather to have a country that respect the basic rights of its people.

You are misguided. The current constitution gives Tanzanians the rights to express their views and participate in any political process . So if somebody demands a new constitution, the person is within his/her constitutional limits to do so and by any means you shouldn't try stop to him/her.

What you need to know is demanding and having are two separate things. The person has the right to demand and express his/her views. However, in a democratic society, the person doesn't have the right to impose his/her will on others.

If the constitution is the consensus of the majority of people, why the country prepare an expensive referendum to vote for it or not?
