JK picks new deputy permanent secretaries

PRESIDENT Jakaya Kikwete has appointed five deputy permanent secretaries and transferred another one with immediate effect.
A statement issued yesterday by the Chief Secretary, Mr Philemon Luhanjo, said that the new appointments and transfer has been done to fill vacancies left by retired deputy permanent secretaries and those promoted to become full permanent secretaries.
According to the statement, Mr Eric Shitindi, former Director of Management Services becomes the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the President's Office while Mr Mbarak Abdul Wakil, former Director of Planning in the Zanzibar State House becomes Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Vice-President's Office.
Others, with their previous posts in brackets are; Mr Fanuel Mbonde - Prime Minister's Office (PMO)-Local Government and Regional Administration (Director of Policy and Planning in the same office); Ms Sophia Kaduma -- Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives (Director of National Food Security) and Mr John Haule - Ministry of Finance (Director of Parliamentary Affairs, PMO).
President Kikwete has also transferred the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Mr Andrew Nyumayo, to PMO to continue with the same position.
