NETGROUP MANAGERS HAND OVER AND LEAVE THE COUNTRY The Management Support Services Contract (MSSC) came to an end on 31st December, 2006. The Contract saw the hiring of NETGroup Solutions (Pty) Ltd from South Africa in May 2002 to manage TANESCO for a period of two years. The Contract was later renewed for another 2 and half years terms. The Government of Tanzania hired NETGroup in order to improve the company financially, improve quality of power supply and assist with the unbundling and privatization exercise. On 21st December, 2006, the NETGroup managers formally handed over to the local management in a brief function held at the TANESCO Head Office. The Chief Executive Officer of NETGroup International, Mr. Marius du Preez and the former Managing Director, Mr. Adriaan van der Merwe handed over the final report and compact disks and software to Mr. Stephen Mabada, who was Acting Managing Director as Dr. Idris Rashid was on safari abroad. The General Manager (Transmission), Mr. Hans Lottering handed over all the documents to Mr. Decklan Mhaiki (Acting GM, Transmission) while General Manager (Distribution), Mr. Anthony Booyzen, handed over to Mr. William Mhando (Acting GM, Distribution). The General Manager (Support Services), Mr. Nantes Kruger handed over the documents to Mrs. Subira Wandiba (Acting GM, Support Services).
