Biashara ya retail Tanzania ni Ngumu sana (clothing, restaurant) kwa supermarket kwa sababu viosk viko kila kona - unlicenced, hawalipi kodi n.k.
Pia purchasing power ya watanzania ni ndogo sana - shoprite anaweza ku-survive MCity tu kwa sababu ni center ya watu wengi. Kuna baadhi ya unique product tutazikosa....

Uchumi wanaweza kuendesha hiyo maana hata kenya wao wanalenga middle class wakati Nakumatt wanalenga upscale shoppers.

Hivi mtu atoke tabata kwenda shoprite kununua mchele/sabuni/sukari wakati mangi anauza hapo nje kwa bei ambayo ni flexible haijaongezwa pango, tax etc.....

Kenya’s largest retail chain Nakumatt is set to acquire three stores belonging to South Africa’s Shoprite in Tanzania in a multi-billion-shilling deal that is expected to be completed by March next year.

The acquisition gives Nakumatt a bigger presence in Tanzania where it debuted in December 2011 with the 34,000-square feet Nakumatt Moshi outlet.

The deal involves the takeover of three Shoprite outlets — one in Arusha and two in Dar es Salam — and is valued at Sh4 billion.

“We have been informed of the said takeover by Nakumatt and the whole deal is set to be concluded March next year,” a senior Shoprite manager in Arusha told the Business Daily on the phone.............



Shoprite opened its first shop in Tanzania in 2001 and its exit comes a few months after the Tanzanian government warned it against rampant importation of products from South Africa.



“Shoprite was importing up to 80 per cent of its products from South Africa – a move that was clearly aimed at promoting manufacturers back home and it seems the Tanzanian government warning did not go well with them causing the exit,” said another source familiar with Shoprite’s operations.

Na ushauri wangu kwa wajasiliamali wa Tanzania ukianzisha biashara lazima uwe na ending strategy ya biashara yako, na opportunity za kuuza biashara zitaongezeka sana miaka hii michache ijayo sababu biashara nyingi sana duniani zinatolea macho Tanzania market.
 
Wabongo mtabakia kulalamika badala ya kufikiria jinsi ya kuanzisha supermarket mnakuwa pessimistic mkizani hawa jamaa hawatafanikiwa huko ni kujidanganya .
Napenda kuwataarifu future ya retail business iko kwenye supermarket . Nitakupeni mfano mmoja kuwa itafika kipindi mtakwenda wenyewe kununua vitu na mtatoka hata Tabata kwenda mpaka mlimani city kwani hawa jamaa watakuwa na supplier power very soon kwa wateja wa rejareja kama sisi wananchi na vile vile watakuwa na buyer power kutoka kwa wazalishaji wakubwa kama viwandani na kwenye Mashamba makubwa na hapo ndipo watakapo kuwa na uwezo juu ya bei tutakayo nunua watakuwa na uwezo wa kuuza bei rahisi zaidi ya dukani kwa Mangi na sisi wananchi hatutakuwa na jeuri ya kutokununua kwao na kwa maana hiyo maduka mengi ya mtaani yatafungwa. Vile baadae wata fungua convenient local shop - small supermarket zao kama branch ndogo.
Na shauri badala ya kuwadeza kwa wafanyabiashara wadogo nawashauri kujipanga mapema.
