That article is only good as a perfect case-study of dishonestly misleading journalism whereby hot statements on the cover page are intended to make everybody buy a copy of that paper. Deep within the middle of the article is only one sentence that even I overlooked upon first reading.
It says:
"The predicted Kilimanjaro eruption is just a fictional setting, an orchestrated drama to be part of the five-state army Military drill to mark the 10th anniversary of the revived East African Community."
I really wish that there could be some way of penalising this kind of irresponsible reporting. Already now, Google shows that the article has spread out to so many authoritative websites through their automatic RSS feeds or by people reposting it in alarm, as was the case here and on AllAfrica.com.
