The UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt has said, he is very concerned to hear that The Citizen newspaper in Tanzania has been suspended for 7 days. He said media freedom is the lifeblood of any democracy and why Canada and British will co-hosting a media freedom conference in July.

While addressing members of the House of Commons in October 2018 about the murder of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the Foreign Secretary named the defence of media freedom as his signature policy and promised to confront countries that doesn't respect Media freedom and help to impose a “diplomatic price”.

"I am placing the resources of foreign office behind the cause of media freedom. This campaign will be marked by a major international conference on media freedom that I will host in London in July 2019." Jeremy Said.

His statement came after the Tanzanian authorities suspended the newspaper for seven days, accusing it of spreading false information about the devaluation of the Tanzanian shilling.

Mmmmmm freedom of expression has limits you can't go to USA and write in your newspaper that Osama Bin Laden was the best man than any American and be left free.Or you can't go to Israel and write in your newspaper that Hitler was a saint that Israel should respect and be left free or you can go to Saudi Arabia and write that A pork meat is holy and good Muslims should eat it .Or you can't write in a newspaper in UK that the Queen is the greatest woman prostitute who sleeps with anybody who wants to sleep with her and be left because of freedom of expression.There are things of national interests that nobody can play with them anywhere in the world and be safe.Press freedom has limits all over the world
