Preferred Skills: Its mission is to ensure a Nile Basin where resources are equitably and sustainably developed and managed benefi ting all its inhabitants. A primary focus for engagement and advocacy is the regional Nile Basin Initiative and its constituent national governments as well as the media and public.To date, NBD is a registered Regional NGO in Uganda and has also established ten National Discourse Forums (NDFs) in the ten riparian countries of the Nile Basin i.e. Burundi, DR Congo, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. In a bid to consolidate its achievement to date by strengthening its institution, and to implement its mid and long term ambitious plan, the NBD is inviting committed, competent and dynamic professionals from the riparian countries to apply for vacancies within the NBD team of staff based in Entebbe, Kigali and Addis Ababa. The NDB will provide a competitive salary and benefi t package for the successful candidates to the following vacancies:- 1. REGIONAL MANAGER Strategic development and leadership of NBD in line with Board decisions. Ensure proper implementation of agreed programs. High level representation of NBD to NBI, Governments, etc. Liaison and support for NDFs. Management of NBD SecretariatCompetencies Masters degree in relevant fi eld. Excellent communications skills in English French and Arabic an added advantage. Proven fundraising skills and donor relations. At least seven years experience in similar capacity in Regional/ International organization. Program development and fund management. 2. FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION MANAGER Oversee fi nancial, administration and human resources management. Provide strategic support to NBD Board and the Regional Manager. Grant and contract management. Develop and ensure compliance of fi nancial and administrative policies and procedures.Competencies Bachelors degree in Commerce or BBA. Masters an added advantage. Certifi ed Public accountant CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent. Minimum 8 years with 5 years post qualifi cation experience in a similar position preferably in an International/Regional organization. Donor fund management. Knowledge of accounting software packages. 3. PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT, MONITORING & EVALUATIONOFFICER Develop, manage and infl uence advocacy strategies. Conduct Basin wide campaign on specifi c issues. Design, coordinate and implement M&E framework for NBD. Track implementation of NBD initiatives and show results. Ensure implementation of regular planning cycle for NBD.Competencies Masters degree in relevant discipline an advantage. Project Planning, development and management skills. At least 5 years experience in similar position preferably inInternational/Regional organization. Budget development and management of donor funding. 4. COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER Development and implementation of NBD communicationsstrategy. Obtain coverage of NBD work in media. Development and implementation of NBDs knowledgemanagement policy. Support NDFs in their communications work locally. Maintain NBD website.Competencies Degree in communication, Information management or relatedfi eld. Excellent spoken and written English with knowledge of French and Arabic being an added advantage. Demonstrated project management skills. Excellent computer skills with expertise in the MS Offi ce suite and familiar with website management. At least three years similar experience preferably in Regional/ International NGO. 5. ADVOCACY OFFICER TWO (ADDIS ABABA & KIGALI) Develop and deliver NBDs advocacy and lobbying agenda and positions at the sub-regional level. Provide technical support to NDFs in advocacy at national, trans-boundary and regional levels. Liaise and seek to infl uence sub-regional bodies of NBI. Competencies First degree in relevant fi eld with a Masters being an added advantage. Good knowledge of communication and Public relations techniques. Knowledge and previous experience in high level advocacy work with international experience being an advantage. Excellent communications skills in spoken and written English. Knowledge of French and Arabic will be an added advantage. At least 3 years experience in similar position. Excellent computer skills and ability to fund raise.
