Ukraine has S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems. A delegation of US and Israeli officials has recently visited Ukraine to study S-300 complexes, Soha News, a Vietnamese publication reports.

The delegation of US and Israeli officials paid a visit to Ukraine after Russia delivered S-300 missile systems to Syria following the tragic shoot down of the Ilyushin Il-20 spy plane. Kiev convinced representatives of the delegation that Ukrainian S-300 systems were no different from Russian ones, the publication said.
According to Soha News, the trip to Ukraine was successful, because US and Israeli officials found out that F-35 Lightning II fighters, if necessary, will be able to cope with Russian or Syrian S-300 systems deployed on the territory of Syria.

A joint US-Israeli delegation visited Ukraine to seek information on several important weapons, including the Russian S-300 complexes recently established in Syria, since after the fall of the USSR, Kiev inherited about 250 units of the S-300.
In response to the supply of the S-300 air defense systems to Syria, the United States sent 18 fourth-generation F-15C Eagle fighters to participate in military drills in Ukraine, while Israel dispatched several F-16 fighter pilots to try to “test” the S-300, reported Khang Minh, the author of the article published in Soha News .
According to the media, the analysis of the S-300’s capabilities in collaboration with the Ukrainian side has convinced the Israeli military command of the invulnerability and supposed advantage of fifth-generation F-35 fighters if they encounter the S-300 positioned missiles in Syria.

The US F-15C Eagle fighters first arrived in the territory of Ukraine on October 6. According to official statements from Kiev and Washington, these airplanes are allegedly involved in the Clear Sky 2018 international exercises. The event is attended by military personnel from nine countries, eight of which, except Ukraine, are members of NATO.
In early October, Moscow completed the delivery of 49 components of the S-300 anti-aircraft defense systems to Syria. This measure was taken after the accidental downing of the Russian aircraft by the Syrian anti-aircraft defense, according to the official story. The aircraft was allegedly used as a shield by the Israeli Air Force and resulted in the death of the 15 military personnel on board.
