Yes, the book boosts one's confidence or self-esteem. But that is only temporarily, and once you realize that you need to take risks, and also it takes time, efforts, and resources to become financially free, your enthusiasm will automatically wane.

Since Mr. Kiyosaki ignores other factors that make people rich, when you read the book you feel that you can do it because it seems so easy. However, it's important to note that listening to Mr. Kiyosaki or reading his books is a business transaction in which there is only one person who really makes the money, Mr. Kiyosaki himself. He's the one selling his products to you and as a business person he understands exactly what his audience wants

Now supposed Michael Jordan writes a book which helps an average person to become a professional basketball player for at least a day, would you buy it? The answer is probably no. Why? Because you know exactly what are your limitations.

I am not saying you should not read the book, but the tricks to tell people that they will be rich using this or that are almost as old as the world itself.

Talent is not limited to one's ability to play sport or engage in artistic activities. As a matter of fact talent is the ability to perform one or more acts exceptionally. Therefore, you need talent to be a good leader. You need talent to be a motivational speaker like Kiyosaki and so forth.

Talents and skills are different but interwoven. So it's very difficult to separate one from the other. In addition, the realization of one's talent and the ability to acquire or refine his skills are tied to the environment he lives.

For example, the investment in general education in Tanzania for 40 years hasn't produced desired effects despite massive injection from the government and donor countries. One might argue that this is because the country has poor facilities and bad teachers. However, when you look closely you will find that the problem is deeper than that. The immediate concerns of many Tanzanians are food, water and shelter. In this sort of environment to expect people to use their education, talent and skills is almost irresponsible.

In America, if you live on minimum income, it will be very difficult for you to save money. This is because your income is intended to cover your basic needs. As such your formula, spending less than what you earn, doesn't work for low income individuals.

I believe humans are able to accomplish many things once they overcome their environments, and they don't really need a word from Mr. Koyasoki to do so. Their environment will dictate the pace and what they should do and accomplish. For example, until recently only Indians and Arabs were traders and merchants in Tanzania. This is because they knew where to find what they want to sell. The natives were spectators on their own soil. But this has started to change. Without a word from Mr. Koyasaki, slowly people are overcoming their environment and are starting to trade.
