A host of stars attended and performed at a concert to celebrate Nelson Mandela's 91st birthday - including Stevie Wonder.

Wyclef Jean and Queen Latifah also took part in the celebrations at the Radio City Music Hall in New York on Saturday

Chris Chamelon and Baaba Maal took to the stage together

French First Lady Carla Bruni and Eurythmics founder Dave Stewart took to the stage together. Her husband, President Nicolas Sarkozy, sat cheering in the audience​

Alicia Keys and African artist Angelique Kidjo performed the spiritual Afrika.

Aretha Franklin joined Josh Groban for his You Raise Me Up song. Afterwards Groban told the crowd that performing with Franklin had been "the thrill of a lifetime".

Actors Alfre Woodard and Forest Whitaker attended, along with Martin Luther King III.​
