A man facing charges over his wife's murder committed suicide at Kericho police cells on Friday.
Kericho OCPD Kipkemoi Rop said Kiplimo Korir hung himself days after killing his wife who was six months pregnant.
“He used his shirt as rope to hang himself in the cells," said Rop.
He said Korir's family members took his body to Kericho district hospital mortuary.
Korir was accused of hacking his wife, Betty Chelangat, to death last Tuesday after finding her with her lover at their home in Ainamoi constituency.
He surrendered to Laliat sublocation chief Joseph Sitienei who took him to Tot police station.
The woman's lover Aaron Cheruiyot is said to have escaped as Korir attacked his wife.
The chief said Korir had been aware of the affair and had warned her several times.
