Dar es Salaam - Newly appointed National Sports Council (NSC) chairman, Dioniz Malinzi got down to work yesterday with a promise to live up to sports enthusiasts' expectations.

Malinzi said yesterday that he would soon meet officials of national sports associations to, among other things, share ideas on how best to turn around the country's sports fortunes.

On Thursday, minister for Information, Youth, Culture and Sports Emmanuel Nchimbi restructured the country's supreme sports body by appointing the prominent businessman the council's new chairman.

Malinzi, who is also the Tanzania Golf Union (TGU) president, replaced September 2011 Idd Kipingu, whose tenure in office has expired.

Nchimbi also appointed other members to the council. They include; the NSSF director general, Ramadhani Dau, Tanzania Sports Writers Association (Taswa) chairperson Juma Pinto and his vice chairman Maulid Kitenge.

Other members are; MPs Jenister Mhagama (Peramiho) and Mkiwa Adam Kimwanga (special seat-CUF), Jamal Rwambow, Venance Mwamoto, Jeniffer Mmasi, Alex Mgongolwa, Eliot Makafu and Cyprian Maro.

Hii Bongo bwana, asubiri frustrations tu. If it were me I will never opt for this position anyway, maana utaambulia lawama kwa wapenzi wengi wa michezo. And people are crazy when it comes to games

Sasa hiyo "high note" ipo wapi? Au ndio hizo ahadi? Kama kawaida ya waTanzania kila kukicha ni ahadi tu!!! Maneno mengi lakini vitendo zero.
