Sometimes writing a piece about some one may motivated by a number of reasons in this case respect. What ever is written in this article is not endorsed by the people mentioned and it is not promotional or critical piece. It is the hope that by writing about these people the author will inspire more leaders to emerge and further the aviation industry in Tanzania.

Today I am writing about to business leaders, prominent in their own capacities in Tanzanian aviation industry and who were nurtured in Tanzania under the leadership of Mr.Michael Shirima who is the owner and board chairman of Precision Air PLC.

There is no need to say much about Mr Shirima or the achievement of Precision Air amid all the challenges but it saves to say that as a mentor and a leader he stills remains one of the greatest leader in Tanzanian aviation and a pioneer of private aviation in Tanzania. In his long career he has inspired, mentored and led many people and has taken many under his wings in building one of the largest privately owned airline in Tanzania Precision. Some of these leaders are coincidentaly both named Patrick.

The duos are Patrick Mwanri the current Group Managing Director and CEO of Precision Air and Patrick Ndekana who I believe to be the current head of the Commercial division at the National carrier Air Tanzania Company LTD

The two Patrick joined Precision Air at different times and different capacities and with different ambitions. They all worked with Precision Air for over a decade serving in various capacities.During this time they had a opportunity to sharpen their skills and experience in aviation and had an opportunity of attending the Prestigious Toulouse Business School studying aviation studies. The studies were all sponsored by the Airline Precision Air.

Patrick Mwanri the current CEO and MD has spent most of his career in the Operational areas of the aviation business especially in Safety,Security,Crew Management and much more.Ins short you can say that he understands intricacies of aviation business and knows exactly what works and what does not work.

On his side Patrick Ndekana the current Head of Commercial of Air Tanzania can be considered a Guru in the commercial aspects of the business. He has worked in that area for many years in network planning (deciding where flights should go to and why)and in strategy(Which plane to deploy and why.

The duo served under the leadership of two CEO both Kenyan Alphonce Kioko who retired and Sauda Rajab whose tenure ended and her place taken by Patrick Mwanri

The two Patricks have demonstrated that as a country we have leaders and that all we need is invest in the younger generation, give them the necessary support and in time they will prove to be a real asset to the nation.

I believe that these are the next leaders of aviation in our country and they will take up the role with pride and ensure that they also breed a new generation of leaders of tomorrow

Wishing all the best to the Patricks as they go up in their career and build aviation in Tanzania

The board believes in Mr. Mwanri and that’s why it has approved his appointment. We expect he will use his rich experience in the aviation business to propel the business and achieve our corporate goals. We are also excited that we have given a homegrown young Tanzanian to run our company, we believe this will inspire youth to believe in themselves that they can achieve anything if they work hard and show commitment, as it was shown by Mr. Mwanri.
