By Staff Reporter
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Samuel Sitta, said yesterday the coming budget session of the Union Parliament will discuss the External Arrears Payment Account and the Richmond power contract scandals fully.
Sitta was speaking to Managing Directors of media houses in Dar es Salaam who asked him a number of questions on a number of issues.
The budget session is the longest of all the house sessions and is due to begin early this month.
Sitta said he would be stunned if the government did not present initial reports on measures it was taking against those mentioned in the scandals.
The House made 23 recommendations to the government to work in the Richmond scam.
It also allowed a request by the government to make a thorough investigation into the EPA scandals.
The government had promised to investigate the scam within six months.
