In this country, if you work very hard and bust your as.s off and eventually become very successful then you become a fisadi in the eyes of the people. This legacy of mwalimu's socialism is a poison to the minds of millions of Tanzanians.
Rostam is not a hard worker, but I do not blame him for whatever ufisadi he may have committed against the interest of the united republic of tanzania, because he has never held any position of authority. He was just a Mbunge wa Igunga just like any other Mbunge, and a CCM stalwart just like any other CCM stalwart. However, Rostam is an excellent businessman who used every loophole in the system to easily make a hefty fortune, not by working hard. He joined politics for that purpose and it paid heavily, because he rose from obscurity immediately after getting a seat in the Mjengo in 1994 by grabbing many government contracts without competing, and yet nobody questioned him though he never delivered. Being a CCM stalwart, he was invited into the 2005 CCM election ring, and clearly he took that responsibility not as a politician but rather as a businessman; the rest is history!!
