Hebu sikiliza vizuri mbona link yangu inaupiga vizuri tu

Au unaenda kwenye link tofauti?

Sorry the song is funny.

Kenya
Ee Mungu nguvu yetu
Ilete baraka kwetu
Haki iwe ngao na mlinzi
Natukae na undugu
Amani na uhuru
Raha tupate na ustawi.

Tanzania
Mungu ibariki Tanzania
Dumisha uhuru na umoja
Wake kwa waume ma watoto
Mungu ibariki
Tanzania na watu wake

Uganda
Oh Uganda! may God uphold thee,
We lay our future in thy hand.
United, free,
For liberty
Together we'll always stand.
Oh Uganda! the land of freedom.
Our love and labour we give,
And with neighbours all
At our country's call
In peace and friendship we'll live.
Oh Uganda! the land that feeds us
By sun and fertile soil grown.
For our own dear land,
We'll always stand:
The Pearl of Africa's Crown.

One of the greatest expectations of 2009 was that East Africa would have its own anthem. But that was not to be.

On the morning of November 20, the five heads of state — Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Mwai Kibaki (Kenya), Yoweri Museveni (Uganda), Pierre Nkurunziza (Burundi), Jakaya Kikwete (Tanzania) and Abeid Amani Karume (Zanzibar) — listened as the regional choir belted out what was to be the new anthem.
After the drums stopped, disapproval and indecision was written all over their faces. Without consulting, The EastAfrican established, President Museveni fired the first salvo.

The song is too soft, he said. He wanted a tune that reflected power and determination, which he believed are what will push the region forward.

President Kikwete, a Muslim, complained that the song was too Christian. The composers seemed to have forgotten that the region has Muslims too, whose voice should be heard.

Rwanda and Burundi, without adding their voice, argued that they were new to the bloc and would go with what was decided by the original members.

President Kibaki said the song was not regional enough, without elaborating on what he wanted to hear.

It was quite an anti-climax for the composers and the judges, who had been working on the tune since 2005, when they heard more than 60 songs from all over East Africa.

These were reduced to 30, at a ratio of 10 per country from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The songs were further edited to nine, with each of the countries taking three of its best to the regional music centre. These were then moulded into one.

A leading choirmaster, who is one of the most accomplished musicians in Kenya and a music lecturer, but who sought anonymity because he is not authorised to speak to the media, said it was now back to the drawing board.

He recalled the reaction by the heads of state to the anthem, saying they had divergent views. “Being a revolutionary, Museveni wants the tune of power, while being a Muslim, Kikwete has his own ideas”, he said, concluding that the different points of view might never come together

Hivi maneno yenyewe ndio haya?
Tupendane Sote

TUPENDANE SOTE

1. Ee Mungu baraka twaziomba,
Utuongoze utupe hekima,
Tuwezeshe tuishi kwa amani,
Kwani sote tu jamii moja.

2. Mila zetu na desturi zetu,
Ziwe msingi wa umoja wetu,
Tuzilinde pia tuzihifadhi,
Kwani ni kitambulisho chetu.

3. Haya shime sote tuwajibike,
Na tuuenzi muungano wetu,
Tujitoe kwa hali na mali,
Tuijenge Jumuiya yetu.

KIITIKIO

Tupendane sote
Tudumishe amani
Umoja wetu ndiyo nguzo yetu
Tuulinde, tuuimarishe
LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER

Oh God we ask for your blessing,
Guide us and give us wisdom,
Enable us to live in peace,
For we are all one family.

Our customs and traditions
should be the basis of our unity,
Let us protect and preserve them,
For they are our identity.

So let us all be committed,
And cherish our Unity,
Let us morally and materially commit ourselves,
To build our Community.

CHORUS

Let us love one another
And maintain peace
Our unity is our strength
Let us protect and uphold it

COUNCIL CHAIRPERSON NAMES NEW DATE FOR REVISED EAC ANTHEM

PRESS RELEASE

Minister responds to questions from EALA Members
East African Community Secretariat, Arusha, Tanzania, 26 April 2010: The Chairperson of the East African Community Council of Ministers, Hon. Dr. Diodorus Kamala has disclosed that the Council will present the revised EAC Anthem to the 12th Summit of the EAC Heads of State scheduled for November 2010, for consideration and adoption.

Hon. Dr. Kamala, who was responding to questions from Honourable Members of the East African Legislative Assembly sitting concluded last week in Kigali, Rwanda also apprised the House of progress registered in the railways and energy sectors in the Community.

Finalisation of the EAC Anthem

Responding to a question raised by by Hon. Dora C. Kanabahita Byamukama (Uganda) as to when the EAC Anthem is to be finalised, Hon. Dr. Kamala informed the august House that the development of the EAC Anthem had been an ongoing process since 2005. The 7th Summit of the Heads of State, held in April 2006, after listening to the first submission of the EAC Anthem proposal directed the Secretariat to develop an anthem with a motivational message and tune in consonance with the Partner States' enthusiasm for enhanced integration; and more than one song to provide the Council and the Summit a reasonable range from which to choose a suitable anthem.
The Minister noted that subsequently, the EAC Anthem proposal had undergone a number of revisions and twice (June 2007 and November 2008 in Kampala) was presented and deferred by Summit for further improvement. The third and most recent was during the 11th Summit of Heads of State sitting in Arusha on 20 November, 2009. The Summit after considering the Anthem proposal directed the Council to further develop the proposed EAC Anthem into a motivational song using the existing text/words and re-submit for Summit's consideration.

The process of developing the EAC Anthem so far had cost the Community USD 411,042 and the projected budget for finalising the process during FY 2010/2011 is USD 129,500.

The proposed Anthem has three verses and a chorus in Kiswahili which highlights the essence of the East African society, its prominence, aspirations and its desire to be united, prosperous and stable.

The Secretariat has developed a programme for implementation of the review process to make the Anthem ready for consideration by the EAC Heads of State Summit in November 2010.

MY TAKE:

The text provides some light on the question of EAC Anthem and the rigorous processes of settling for one. Anybody with something more to add in please.

Kamata tano mkuu, MODs naamini nao ni wasikivu!

Tanzania's Jakaya Kikwete refused the proposed East African Community anthem saying the song was "too christian".

While other EAC heads of state had no qualms on the tune, Museveni had also refused the song on the grounds that it was "too soft".He said he was a revolutionary and that the regional anthem should take cognisance of the wave of "democratic revolution" sweeping Africa, therefore the beat must be "powerful".

Maana verse zimechukuliwa huko

We need to help our leaders to think ahead

Endeleeni kuwachokonoa tu siku wakisema basi inatosha, itatosha kweli.Ila tumuombe Mungu siku hiyo isifike, yatokeapo macahfuko wenye nacho ndio hupoteza kwani wasio nacho hawana cha kupoteza.
jk so mjinga kiasi hicho hata kama kweli aliona wimbo una vionjo vya ukristu angetumia siasa na sio direct attributing it to christianity.JK IS A POLITICIAN AND HE KNOWAS HOW TO PLAY IT
