Kenyan student and colleagues beaten up in India

A second year Kenyan student and his colleagues were reportedly beaten up in the college canteen at the University of Pune in India. The students alleged that their seniors beat them up for not following their orders.

The students had also lodged a complaint with the principal of the college following which, a two-member committee was appointed on Tuesday to make an inquiry into the issue.

Acting vice chancellor of University of Pune, Adsool said on Thursday that the “quarrel” that broke out between the junior and senior students on the campus of Indian Law Society’s Law College last Friday was not a case of ragging. He has discussed the issue with ILS Law College principal Vaijayanti Joshi, other faculty members and all the entities concerned.

“ I personally visited the campus as a foreign student was also allegedly beaten up in the case. However, the Kenyan student has withdrawn his complaint and we have the written proof of it. The incident took place as a fall out of a dispute over some petty issue; but it was certainly not a case of ragging,” Adsool told The Indian Express.

Adsool clarified that the committee set up by the college will continue its probe into the incident and decide on further action.

Meanwhile, the committee issued a notice to the students, who had allegedly beaten up the second year students, asking them to clarify their side on or before January 18.

Nawapa pole!

Not new, even Tanzanian students in India, are ni trouble. If that is the case, we should encourage Australians to continue to hammer Indian students there since their people are doing the same to foreign students. Jino kwa jino. Why do they complain for the miseries they are also inflicting to others?
