Hospitals

Nairobi metropolitan services (nms) has started the construction of 24 public hospitals in all the informal settlements in Nairobi.
10 of the new hospitals will be level two and three and the rest will be level 4 hospitals.
All the hospitals will require kes 2.8 billion to construct.

Roads

Also underway is the construction of 400 km of tarmac roads across all the informal settlements, this will increase mobility and access for emergency services in the informal settlements.

Water

Nairobi metropolitan services has already finished drilling and construction of 100 bore holes across informal settlements. This has greatly improved sanitation standards in the informal settlements.
Plans are also underway to drill and construct another 100 boreholes.

Nairobi commuter rail

Already almost complete (90%), Nairobi commuter rail will have a train station in kibera, a platform in mukuru kwa njenga slum and mukuru kwa reuben.
This commuter rail will offer residents of these informal settlements a cheaper option to matatus giving them an opportunity to spare money for other things like starting small businesses.

street lights

Already under construction, Nairobi metropolitan services is lighting up the informal settlements with street lights to enable people to carry out their businesses until late hours or overnight.
The project has already seen the construction of 250 security light masts in all the informal settlements in Nairobi.

These projects are intended to uplift the standard of living of all the informal settlement residents to give them good healthcare, better sanitation and to grow their businesses within the informal settlements.
