More jobs and most importantly technology transfer. It's now apparent that it's not if but rather when Kenya becomes an Industrialized Nation.

Kwanini hawa wachina wanapenda vitambaa vyekundu katika uzinduzi wao wowote. Au ndio mambo ya traditional rules,
Chek hata New force gari zao etc

Free port is only for the storage and re-export of transit goods tax free, if they end up on local market they will be subject to normal tax which is high enough to protect the local industry, in 2016 10,000 vehicles were assembled locally..

My question was number of vehicle sold not inventory.

All in all, Kenya car assembly plant was a wider EAC plan to industrialise on motor assembly and manufacturing. Each member state was tasked with duty of developing industry of their choice and others can supply those industries with either raw material or parts needed to produce goods. The idea was stop countries within the block developing similar products which will end up creating unhealthy competition. But it seems there still things needs to be iron out, and I'm suspecting some countries are refusing to let go some industries.
