Who can Muammar Kadhafi still count upon as his regime collapses around him? Ministers, military chiefs and dignitaries have all abandoned him in recent days. But, for the moment a least, his family remains solidly at his side. Hunkered down in Tripoli, Kadhafi, who ruled for 42 years by striking a careful balance between tribal and family alliances, can still rely on his sons and other family members to take up arms in the fight to survive the insurrection in Libya.
