A Supreme Court judge says he ruled to annul President Musevenis re-election in 2006 because the President was not properly elected.
Justice George Wilson Kanyeihamba also says that the Supreme Court mishandled Col. Kizza Besigyes petition that sought to cancel President Musevenis victory by conducting a trial instead of an inquiry.
In a paper he delivered during a democratic governance conference at Mbarara University of Science and Technology on July 11, Kanyeihamba also said that his colleagues at the Supreme Court acted unconstitutionally when they summarized their findings without giving reasons that informed their decision.
The idea that the Supreme Court can summarize its findings and give a decision and then give reasons outside the period fixed by the Constitution is indefensible, he said
