Hali ya Joto kali imeendelea barani Ulaya ambapo inakadiriwa watu 1,063 wamefariki kutokana na hali hiyo kati ya Julai 7-18, 2022.
Takwimu hizo ni kwa mujibu wa Wizara ya Afya ya Ureno ambapo Nchi kiwango cha juu cha Joto kilifikia Nyuzi Joto 47C kikiwa ni cha juu zaidi Nchini humo kuwahi kutokea.
Joto kali pia lilichochea moto wa nyika ambao uliteketeza hekta 45,467 za ardhi. Maofisa wawili wa kuzima moto, raia mmoja walifariki katika moto huo.
Aidha, inadaiwa kuwa Nchini Hispania kuna vifo 678 vilivyosababishwa na Joto kali.

Portugal has reported more than 1,000 deaths due to the current heat wave, with the health chief warning on Tuesday that the country must gear up to cope with the effects of climate change as temperatures continue to rise.
"Portugal ... is among one of the areas of the globe that could be (more) affected by extreme heat," Graça Freitas, head of health authority DGS, told Reuters. "We have to be more and more prepared for periods of high temperatures."
Temperatures across drought-stricken Portugal surpassed 104 degrees Fahrenheit last week. Although they have dropped in the last few days, Freitas said they remained above normal levels for this time of the year.
